If my library activates proactive chat, will this affect our staffing requirements?

Libraries that choose to implement proactive chat, an optional feature, will not be asked to provide additional staffing commitments.

Similar to existing chat widgets such as chat boxes and tabs, proactive chat is another tool that libraries have available to increase student awareness of the service. Anytime a library increases visibility or awareness of the service, it's anticipated that usage will increase. If there is a need to revisit the staffing commitment model for the service, this is done by the Advisory Committee at a service-wide level.

There is also no expectation that your library staff your institutional queue only outside of your AskAway hours.
